Academic Qualification:
1. Bosun:
(i) 12th Standard Pass or equivalent.
(ii) Possession of a Certificate of
competency as Mate Fishing Vessel
issued by the Mercantile Marine
Department.
2. Skipper Grade – I:
(i) Matriculation or equivalent
(ii) Certificate of competency as Skipper
(iii) Five years practical experience on
board fishing vessel after obtaining
Mate Fishing Vessel Competency
Certificate.
3. Technician (Motor Driver):
(i) Matriculation pass qualification
from a recognized Board
(ii) Possession of a valid and
appropriate Heavy duty driving
license with badge from prescribed
Govt. authority (the candidate will
have to pass the practical skill test
to be taken by an appropriate
Committee of the Institute).
4. Senior Technical Assistant (Programme Assistant – Computer):Bachelor’s
Degree in Computer Science/ Computer
Application.
5. Senior Technical Assistant (Farm Manager):Bachelor’s
Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture.

Scale :
2. Skipper Grade – I: Rs.15,600-39,100 + 6,600/- (Grade Pay)
3. Technician (Motor Driver): Rs.5,200-20,200 +
`2,000/- (Grade Pay)
4. Senior Technical Assistant (Programme Assistant – Computer): Rs.9300-34800 + 4200/- (Grade Pay)
5. Senior Technical Assistant
(Farm Manager) :Rs.9300-34800 + 4200/- (Grade Pay)
Age Limit:
1. Bosun: 18-30 years
2. Skipper Grade – I: 18-40 years
